Crowded market? Top-3 is the only spot that matters.

In a dense market, ranking 4th or lower is invisible. See exactly where you rank across your whole service area.

Competitor locations come live from OpenStreetMap via the Overpass API - the open map database behind Apple Maps and many assistants. Coverage varies by category and country; some businesses aren't mapped on OpenStreetMap yet (which is itself worth fixing - it feeds Apple Maps and AI). Results are cached briefly and the public map API is occasionally busy, in which case we show an honest "try again" note rather than a wrong count.

Competitor density FAQ

Where does the competitor data come from?
Live from OpenStreetMap (via the Overpass API) - the open map database that also feeds Apple Maps and many AI assistants. It counts mapped businesses of your category within 5km.
Why might my count look low?
Not every business is on OpenStreetMap yet, and coverage varies by category and country. A low count can mean a genuinely open market - or that your category is under-mapped locally. Either way, being on OpenStreetMap helps you appear in Apple Maps and assistant answers.
What does "densest cluster" mean?
The 1km patch inside your 5km radius with the most competitors, and its direction from your centre - so you can see where the competition concentrates.
How do I actually beat a crowded market?
Density tells you the stakes; the Map Rank Check tells you where you currently stand in the Google Map Pack across your service area - the number that drives calls.
